DISASTER MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN UTTARAKHAND

India is prone to natural disasters on account of its geographical features, flanked by the mighty Himalayas and its ever-shifting tectonic plates.  Floods, droughts, cyclones, earthquakes and landslides have been a recurrent phenomena here. The vision of Sewa International is to be first responder in any disaster – natural or manmade. Hence, recognizing the need to contribute to disaster response and recovery efforts, Sewa International is developing its own mechanism to provide humanitarian assistance during disasters. keeping this in mind, Sewa International Uttarakhand conducted a 3-days Disaster Management Workshop to train its staff as primary responders in rescue and relief operations in time of disaster. The training module included both indoor and outdoor training. This 3-day training was conducted by trained professionals from the State Disaster Management Cell.
